i been feeling overwhelmed with all the swaps finishing at the same time, and constantly making things for others, so i decided to make something for myself today.i have been wanting to do the whirlygiggles aka scrappy cartwheels ever since i saw it on greetingarts. i didnt actually use her tute, i just kind of winged it. basically i cut 5 x 4.5 in squares and put little hatch marks at 2" on one side and 3" on the other and then used my ruler to cut from one mark to the other. which gives you the classic whirlygiggle shape(notice i didnt give you the math name for it, as i have no bloody idea what it is). my problem now is that i dont know what to do with what i made...i have a top that is about 15.25" square....and its in fall colors. so tell me how to make this useful for my house!!!
i also have been working on these little felt bits
cream filled donuts and poptarts. i had originally whipped these up the nite before we went to 6 flags. my thinking being the teenager was going to ditch me and ride with friends all day. i thought this would be a perfect carry along sewing project. then teenager told me late that nite that her friend couldnt come, so it looks like i was going to have to tag along and ride the rides, so i left my bits and bobs at home. within minutes of arriving teenager found not one but two friends, and you guessed it.....she ditched me. now i still walked around with them (there was another really nice mom) but there was a perfect amount of kids, so i didnt have to go on the rides!!! which means i could have sat and sewn!! ah well...
before i leave you all to your own devices.. i just wanted to mention my niece beth has finally gotten a blog (after much arm twisting). it would just tickle me pink if you all would go show her some bloggy love!! and please leave her a comment, even if just to say i sent you! smooches, and toodles
